Each month, The Kentucky
Explorer magazine receives literally scores of letters from
our faithful readers. Among those letters we often find queries,
ranging from requests for words to songs and poems to trying
to locate former classmates and military buddies of long ago.
Here are a few queries from
June 2009

Dear Editor:
I am looking for "Scarlet Runner" bean seed. I can't
find any in my area.

Howard Information
Helpful
Dear Editor:
I requested information on the Howard family through The Kentucky
Explorer and am happy to relate that my request was answered.
There was no return address, so I do not know whom to thank.
The sender of this information can't imagine how much I appreciate
the efforts in finding this data for me. I still have a long
way to go with my search, but this information gave me a great
start.
Thanks to the magazine for providing a service to advertise requests.

Recipes Help
Keep Tradition
Dear Editor:
Thanks to Kentucky Explorer readers who responded when I asked
for an old-fashioned recipe for sweet bread that my grandmother
made when I was a child.
I am now able to make the bread for my family and keep the tradition
going for generations to come.
