Each month, The Kentucky
Explorer magazine receives literally scores of letters from
our faithful readers. Whenever possible, we try to publish as
many of them as possible in the 12 pages we have set aside for
"Letters to the Editor."
Here are actual letters from March

Info. Wanted On Cave
Springs Christian Church
Dear Editor:
I am seeking information on the Cave Springs Christian Church
on Cave Springs Road in McKee, Jackson County, Kentucky, which
used to be Clover Bottom. My dad and granddad both pastored the
little country church, which is told to be the oldest Christian
church or maybe the oldest church this side of the Blue Ridge
Mountains. I have been told that it was established in the early
1800s, maybe 1809. It is still a beautiful church. We have services
each Sunday and special singings on the fourth Saturday of each
month. This church is a historical site and I want to record
it as such, if I can gather enough information.
Any help would be appreciated.

Old Army Buddies
Dear Editor:
I would like to ask readers for help in finding old Army buddies
who were at Camp Pickett, Virginia, and members of the 43rd Infantry
Division in 1951 through 1953.
Following are their 1951 addresses:
Marvin Grimes, West Clarkville, Kentucky; J. B. Messer, Walker,
Kentucky; and Donald Sandifer, Middles-boro, Kentucky.
Our group holds a reunion every year in Liberty, Kentucky, and
would like for these men to attend.
