Each month, The Kentucky
Explorer magazine receives literally scores of letters from
our faithful readers. Whenever possible, we try to publish as
many of them as possible in the 12 pages we have set aside for
"Letters to the Editor."
Here are actual letters from December
2006/January 2007
Old Christmas Recipes Wanted
Dear Editor:
I really enjoy The Kentucky Explorer magazine and pass it on
after I am finished reading each issue.
I am interested in old recipes from the 1800s for Christmas cakes,
candies, and puddings.
If any reader has any to share, it would be appreciated.

Reared In Perry County;
Bean Seeds Wanted
Dear Editor:
I was born and reared at Clemons, Kentucky, just outside of Hazard
in Perry County. My parents were Nicholas and Abie Stacy Hensley.
I would like some White Kentucky Wonder Bean seeds, not the brown
kind, if any reader has any to share.
If any elderly gentleman would like to write, it sure would be
nice for this 84-year-old.

Thanks For Great
Little Magazine
Dear Editor:
I enjoy The Kentucky Explorer so much. I never want to miss an
issue. I read each issue from cover-to-cover and keep all of
them to read later.
Thanks so much for a great little magazine.

Wonderful Memories Of
Fountain Square Park
Dear Editor:
When I opened the October 2006 issue of The Kentucky Explorer
to page two and saw the feature on Fountain Square Park, it brought
back so many wonderful memories.
I was born at Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky, in 1941.
We lived in a log cabin on the Elm Grove Dairy Farm. My parents
took us kids to this park every week. I really enjoyed that fountain.
We moved to California in August 1950. All my family, who lived
in Bowling Green, are gone now, and I haven't been there since
1968.
Thanks for the memories.
