Each month, The Kentucky
Explorer magazine receives literally scores of letters from
our faithful readers. Whenever possible, we try to publish as
many of them as possible in the 12 pages we have set aside for
"Letters to the Editor."
Here are actual letters from June
2006
Formerly Of First Creek
In Perry County
Dear Editor:
A photo of the First Creek High School Basketball Team of 1941
of Perry County was published in the March 2006 issue of The
Kentucky Explorer.
I was a cheerleader at First Creek High School for three years,
graduating in 1940. I attended grade school at Blue Diamond in
Perry County.
I would like to hear from any reader who knows the history of
Blue Diamond at First Creek or remembers the George and Isadore
Childers family. I have relatives who lived in many towns in
Kentucky.
Keep up the good work with the magazine.

Words To Song Request
Dear Editor:
I enjoy The Kentucky Explorer and have found its readers to be
extremely helpful.
My request is for the words to a country song that was popular
most likely in the late 1940s to early 1950s. I believe the title
may have been "Life Gets Tedious." I can't recall who
sang the song, but I think of some of the words from time to
time and smile.

Car Is 1936 Packard
Dear Editor:
My husband thinks the car shown in the photo on page 89 of the
February 2006 issue of The Kentucky Explorer is a 1936 Packard
120 Sedan. The photo was submitted by George H. Voyles asking
for the year and make of the car.
