Each month, The Kentucky
Explorer magazine receives literally scores of letters from
our faithful readers. Among those letters we often find queries,
ranging from requests for words to songs and poems to trying
to locate former classmates and military buddies of long ago.
Here are a few queries from February
2006
Searching
For Friend
Dear Editor:
I am searching for Regina Yvette Morris, who was born July 20,
1971. She was last known to be in Louisville, Jefferson County,
Kentucky.
Any information would be appreciated.

Wants To Know
Location Of
Old Mill On Elkhorn Creek
Dear Editor:
The hamlet of South Elkhorn, together with the old mill on Elkhorn
Creek, Woodford County, described in The Kentucky Explorer, September
2005 issue, pages 10 and 11, seem to have disappeared from history.
My daughter, who lives on South Elkhorn Creek, is attempting
to locate exactly where the old mill and hamlet of South Elkhorn
existed. Local historians she contacted were unable to help her.
My daughter and I hope Explorer readers will be familiar with
the location. We note the many questions answered by the magazine's
readers and ask anyone who may have information to assist us.
Thanks to The Kentucky Explorer staff for the great compilation
of Kentucky history. I read each and every issue from cover-to-cover.
