Sparks, Sr., owned 1,000 acres, Estill Co., Ky., 1777; Sgt. Eli
Gabbard, enlisted 5/1915, Lexington, wounded 10/1918, son of
John W. Gabbard; and my g. g. g. g. g. grandfather, John Gilbert,
settled in Clay Co., Ky., 1780, pioneer, state senator, 1883-37.
