Each month, The Kentucky
Explorer magazine receives literally scores of letters from
our faithful readers. Among those letters we often find queries,
ranging from requests for words to songs and poems to trying
to locate former classmates and military buddies of long ago.
Here are a few queries from our March
2003
Looking For Lyrics/Music
Dear Editor:
I am trying to find someone who knows the words to a song I remember
my grandmother singing. The name of it is Doctor Jesus. I am
27 years old and remember her singing this when I was eight or
nine years old.
If anyone has the words to this song or any other old-time country
gospel music, I would be very interested in the lyrics and sheet
music.

Searching For All Spellings
Of
Stidham That Served In WWII
Dear Editor:
We need information on all Stidham, Stidham, Stidom and other
spellings of our name that served in WWII.
I'm sure there are many who served their country from Kentucky,
Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and many other states. We need dates
they entered and left the service (copy of discharge if available),
medals, places stationed, photos (copy), battles fought, etc.
This information will be printed in our award winning The Timen
Stiddem Society Newsletter.
In issue Number 15, we listed the Stidams and all spellings of
our name that served in the Civil War. There were 14 from Kentucky
who we were able to find on the Internet, newspaper clippings,
and from pension records.
We certainly want information on those who gave their lives for
their country.
